How to choose a good diving school?

I'm looking to learn diving, but have no idea what to look for in a school. Every place seems to offer classes the same concerts and more or less the same price. Has any seasoned pro's here know what to look for when you go training? If you it's any consolation, I hope to get the basic generic open water diver then go into shock and exploring caves first. All other courses seems very interesting too, and probably will take place during my lifetime. I am also conscious not to where I am to avoid the ads in terms of advice. I am looking for information on what comprises a good diving instructor / school.

For the basic open water certification, the curriculum more or less will be the same for each agency. So, I start from there. I would go with a course offered by one of the major agencies (PADI, SSI, NAUI, GUE, BSAC, Divers Los Angeles County, YMCA, etc.). These organisms have a teaching format and certifications are recognized worldwide. From there, it will come to instructor. For each of these agencies, there are good trainers and not so good instructors. If you might want to meet with your instructor before registering for class. Ideally, you want an instructor who is comfortable with him. Some other suggestions, if the instructor / course is good … – How much pool time is announced by the course? Do students actually spend at least that amount of time in the pool? – Private pool or car pool (as in the local gym)? A private pool usually means the instructor will not be pressed for time if there is some learning curve. – Any former student who can speak? Wherever you want to go with their certification (ie, remains and cave): Take proper training offered. You do not have to continue with the same agency that made the basic training in open water. Basic I open water and the remains of an agency. I am registered to take a class cave with a complete different agency specializing in cave diving. diving, diving, diving. Acknowledge you really do not know anything about diving to get more experience. For example, in relation to buoyancy, I thought I knew what he was doing after 20 dives. Once I hit 50 dives, I realized I was doing wrong. At 900 dives, I still have some adjustments to make. And the best advice (in particular the wreck, cave, cave diving), anyone can cancel any dive at any time for any reason. No questions asked.
