Scuba season has ended? I think not!
Since the speed of the holidays with us like a freight train and the waters turn cold. Many of our thoughts go from scuba diving to other projects and efforts. For many, the dive season has ended and his team are dry and stored waiting for that January trip to warmer waters.
Just because the temperature outside is a bit colder does not mean we lose attention to our passion for diving. In fact, there are plenty of things you can do to keep your head in the proverbial Scuba game. After all, do not want that the skills developed during the summer rust.
The following is a list of tips and ideas to stay in the water (both mentally and physically):
Take a refresher course. Diving shops offer group and private review to keep people in the water and your new skills. Also look for night swimming open or nights demo as a way to keep water in your local dive shop.
Buy a dry suit. Dry diving suit is a great way to keep in the water throughout the year.
Do not take a diving course. Although not in the water, a diving course is a great way to keep your head virtual underwater.'re learning new skills and meeting friends diving future.
Take a break from hot water. At least once during the winter, I can find my way to warmer climates and tropical reefs. It is a great way to recharge the battery and not 10 or 15 dives. You can not take a week off in the middle of winter, I'm sure you can find a long weekend and a cheap dive boat in two or three hour flight.
Starting an exercise routine. Being physically fit will help you improve your diving, the air consumption and enjoyment. Not only that, but you will reap other benefits of living a healthier life. Focus on cardio and core. Be careful, if you lose much weight, you can end up having to buy a new wetsuit this spring. A great idea of fitness to practice swimming. Finding a good gym, a heated indoor pool.
Get social with other divers. Many cities have shops or groups who host monthly dive club or meet and greet "meetings." Other social tools including online communities and "advice". These activities are a great way to learn what is happening in the diving community and meet new divers.
Read everything you can get your hands on. There are many regional and national magazines scuba, online news and sites media, training manuals, books and more. The more I read, the more you learn. Read about Scuba will do a better diver. Broaden their horizons and their knowledge.
Make a plan. Set some goals for next season. Your plan should include, where you want to go, what equipment want to buy and what courses they want to take. In addition, the budget item for these expenses.
Support your local dive shop. Not only a slow time for you as a diver, but a slower time for dive shops. Your health is an integral part of our community. Whenever possible, support your favorite store local dive. If nothing else, and miss them. Let them know that you remain a customer and support.
Convince a friend or loved one certificate for diving. Diving is a very social sport. Why not share it with someone you care. The more people know you are divers, more time will pass below the surface.
The fact that the regular dive season has ended does not mean that you should not think about diving. There is plenty to do during the season low, to keep fit Master Diver. Take your time each week to focus on the dive season and next will be the most rewarding ever.
